Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

We ship fast AI‑driven services that process customer documents, and our platform is rapidly outgrowing its original design. As a Senior/Staff Platform Engineer you will turn implicit decisions into explicit, reliable architecture and build the shared primitives that product engineers rely on.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement golden paths, shared libraries and APIs that make product development secure, reliable and scalable.
• Own the end‑to‑end architecture, including infrastructure as code, Kubernetes clusters, cloud footprint and CI pipelines.
• Establish and monitor SLIs/SLOs, design high‑signal alerts and drive down AI and infrastructure costs.
• Maintain security and compliance foundations such as IAM, secrets management, authentication/authorization and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 controls.
• Provide AI development tooling, documentation and automation to keep engineers and agents on the paved road.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, building and operating distributed systems from scratch to production.
• Strong backend engineering combined with DevOps/SRE expertise; treats infrastructure as code.
• Ability to write design docs, RFCs, ADRs and post‑mortems.
• Focus on simple, robust solutions and skill at distinguishing essential from accidental complexity.
