Software Engineer – Delphi Modernization for Healthcare

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a healthcare software team that serves pharmacies and prescribers. The role focuses on maintaining and modernising a legacy Delphi codebase while integrating it with contemporary services and databases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a healthcare software product using Delphi and integrate with pharmaceutical databases and standards.
• Design and implement performance, stability, and integration improvements using .NET, Express.js, and MSVC components.
• Collaborate with internal teams to connect Delphi components with modern web and data services.
• Utilise AI tools and agents to accelerate refactoring, analysis, and documentation of the existing codebase.
• Contribute to the roadmap for platform modernization, balancing reliable delivery with phased evolution.

Required profile

• Several years of experience developing with Delphi in business‑critical, high‑availability systems.
• University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field with strong academic performance.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL and experience with integration patterns.
• Proficiency with build, deployment and version‑control tools, and demonstrated use of AI in software engineering.
• Fluent in both German and English for effective communication with domestic and international teams.
