System Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team within a regulated financial services environment. You will be responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving core Microsoft infrastructure services while ensuring stability, security, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end server patch management lifecycle and vulnerability remediation using SCCM and related tooling.
• Operate and maintain the enterprise email platform (Exchange Online / Hybrid Exchange), including mail flow, transport rules, and security controls.
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, GPO, and hybrid identity solutions (Entra ID / Azure AD) and ensure performance of Windows Server environments.
• Apply system hardening, baseline configurations, and provide evidence for regulatory audits (BaFin, CSSF, DORA).
• Manage Windows Server lifecycle, patch baselines, OS configuration standards, and automation via PowerShell.
• Provide 3rd‑level support, lead root‑cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement of service reliability.
• Manage certificate‑based services and S/MIME secure messaging capabilities.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft server and messaging technologies in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and audit requirements for financial services.
• Proven ability to design, automate, and document infrastructure processes.
