Technical Interface Manager – Offshore HVDC (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Interface Manager to lead the coordination of mechanical and electrical interfaces for a large‑scale offshore HVDC project. The position is freelance, starts 01‑07‑2026, and combines remote work with on‑site assignments in Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces between offshore HVDC converter stations and cable systems.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate interface‑related risks.
• Align disciplines, EPC contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
• Create and maintain an Interface Matrix and Interface Register.
• Prepare decision papers, reports, and presentations for project stakeholders.
• Plan, facilitate, and document internal and external interface meetings.
• Track implementation of interface agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Continuously improve and maintain a structured interface management process.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in offshore environments (preferably HVDC systems or substations).
• Strong background in technical interface management within multi‑contractor projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
