VDI Engineer – Ramstein (Secret Clearance)

About the role

The Systems Engineer Principal (VDI Engineer) will support enterprise IT operations for GDIT customers, focusing on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and related virtualization technologies. The position is based in Ramstein and requires a Secret security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VDI solutions using VMware ESXi, VMware VDI, and related virtualization platforms.
• Administer virtual machines, manage large‑scale computer systems and multi‑server LAN environments.
• Ensure compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II and related certification requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to advance customer operations and improve system performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for virtualization and cloud services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum five years of IT experience, including at least three years of specialized systems administration.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Meet Germany TESA requirements for education and experience.
