VIE Stress Engineer (d/f/m)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a motivated graduate to join the Airframe Stress Department in Donauwörth as a VIE Stress Engineer. You will support structural evaluation and stress analysis throughout the helicopter development cycle, from concept to detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural evaluation and stress analysis during all development phases.
• Size and substantiate components using hand‑calculation methods and Finite Element Method (linear and non‑linear).
• Prepare and order test programmes, supervise test execution and analyse results.
• Draft justification reports for static strength and fatigue assessments.
• Determine service life, inspection and maintenance intervals for airframe and mechanical equipment.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (mechanical, aerospace or related engineering) aged 18‑28.
• EU citizen (including Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein).
• Strong motivation to work in an agile, international aerospace environment.

Required skills

• Hand‑calculation methodology for sizing and strength verification.
• Finite Element Method (FEM) – linear and non‑linear analysis.
• Structural evaluation and stress analysis.
• Static strength and fatigue analysis.
• Test programme preparation and supervision.
