Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter – Finance Automation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, tech‑savvy Accountant (m/f/d) to join Appinio’s global finance team. In this role you will be the technical architect of our accounting function, ensuring data quality while building a scalable, automated ecosystem for our German entity and international subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100 % accuracy and compliance with German GAAP (HGB).
• Partner with the Team Lead Accounting to deliver fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes for the German entity and support subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, the US and Colombia.
• Prepare documentation and schedules for annual audits and act as the internal expert for auditors.
• Drive implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a fully digital, scalable process.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual work.
• Support technical consolidation and international alignment of subsidiary financials.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for automation and data quality.
• Fluent in German accounting standards (HGB) and comfortable working in an English‑speaking, remote‑first team.
