Accountant – Financial Ledger & Automation Specialist

About the role

Appinio is looking for an ambitious, tech‑savvy Accountant to become the technical architect of its accounting function. You will ensure the highest quality of financial data while building a scalable, automated accounting ecosystem for a fast‑growing global market‑research company.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100 % accuracy, compliance and thorough documentation.
• Partner with the Team Lead Accounting to deliver fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes (HGB) for the German entity and support subsidiaries.
• Prepare audit documentation and schedules, acting as the internal expert for external auditors.
• Drive implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a fully digital, scalable function.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual effort.
• Provide technical sparring on accounting, tax and compliance issues and support consolidation across subsidiaries in Spain, the UK, the US and Colombia.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for automation and technology.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
