Application Support Engineer – Operations Platform

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and collaborative Application Support Engineer to join the Operations Platform team. The role focuses on modernising legacy systems and developing new digital capabilities for BASF’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for Operations Platform applications across Ludwigshafen and other EMEA sites, ensuring stable production.
• Act as the primary support contact for incident analysis and resolution, working with product and infrastructure teams.
• Support major and minor platform/application deployments, including preparation, go‑live, hyper‑care and post‑deployment validation.
• Handle platform or application incidents, offering verification, rollback support and cross‑region coordination.
• Collaborate with product teams for advanced troubleshooting, release support and defect resolution.
• Work with first‑line support and external providers to manage escalations until resolution.
• Communicate technical and operational updates to sites and stakeholders during incidents and releases.
• Contribute to knowledge documentation and improve operational practices based on real‑world issues.
• Provide coverage during critical periods such as go‑lives, major releases and high‑volume request windows.

Required profile

• Experience in L2/L3 support for enterprise applications.
• Strong incident‑analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work across multiple sites in the EMEA region.
