Associate IT Systems Administrator (all genders)

About the role

Support the development, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of IT‑based hardware systems for drone Ground Control Stations and related operational setups. Work hands‑on with ruggedized computers, tablets, networking equipment, routers, radios, power systems, peripheral devices, cabling, and Linux‑based environments to create reliable, field‑ready GCS solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate rugged laptops, tablets, routers, switches, radios, power components, displays and other IT hardware into complete Ground Control Station setups.
• Configure and maintain Linux‑based systems, network devices and peripheral components to ensure stable, repeatable behavior.
• Design and implement robust cable management and power‑distribution concepts for mobile and rugged deployments.
• Conduct hands‑on testing, debugging and optimisation of integrated hardware in workshops, labs, vehicles, boats and outdoor test environments.
• Support production readiness by defining repeatable build setups, hardware dependencies, configuration baselines and clear hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Approximately 3 years of professional experience in IT systems integration, hardware integration or related hands‑on technical roles.
• Strong practical understanding of computers, operating systems, network devices, routers, interfaces and peripheral hardware.
• Experience with Linux‑based systems and basic networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs).
• Proven hands‑on experience integrating ruggedised IT equipment into mobile, vehicle or field‑based systems.
• Comfortable working in workshops, vehicles, test sites and outdoor environments.
• Solid English communication skills; German is a plus.
