Business Development Manager – APAC Cosmetics & Personal Care

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead commercial expansion of a fast‑scaling biotechnology company that produces fermentation‑derived bioactive ingredients for cosmetics and personal care. Based in Hamburg, you will own the growth strategy for the APAC region, working directly with the Managing Director and Head of Growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new customers across APAC, focusing on ingredient manufacturers, formulators, and cosmetic brands.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with ingredient suppliers and multinational beauty companies.
• Develop market entry strategies for Japan, China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
• Translate technical ingredient functionality into clear commercial value propositions.
• Support partner onboarding, technology transfer, and integration into customer formulations.
• Collaborate with internal scientific teams to align innovation with market demand.

Required profile

• Proven B2B business development experience in cosmetic ingredients, specialty chemicals, or personal care.
• Strong commercial network across APAC cosmetic markets.
• Experience selling to ingredient houses, formulators, or multinational beauty brands.
• Deep understanding of cosmetic actives, formulation challenges, and ingredient positioning.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a high‑growth environment.
