Buyer – Procurement (VIE)

About the role

Alstom is looking for a motivated Buyer to manage the procurement of product groups and commodities across its projects. You will act as the bridge between business units, global lead buyers and the domain, ensuring the right parts, services and goods are available while keeping costs low and quality high.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project Quality, Cost, Delivery and Technical (QCDT) performance.
• Support material price definition for assigned commodity groups.
• Identify material requirements, estimate costs and prepare requests for offers.
• Compile contract packages, especially for variation orders, and assess procurement risks and opportunities.
• Verify implementations, maintain documentation according to standards, and support assessment and homologation.
• Manage contracts, handle claims, resolve conflicts and feed lessons learned into future bids.
• Develop long‑term supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Represent Procurement in cross‑functional meetings and work autonomously to solve issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Purchasing or a related field.
• Understanding of supplier selection and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of QCDT principles.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
