Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Industrial Manufacturing

About the role

An established industrial manufacturing company in Northern Germany seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to drive financial strategy, transformation, and performance across Finance, Controlling, Procurement, and IT. The CFO will shape the financial direction of a century‑old asset with strong regional and international relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy to ensure profitability, sustainable growth, and competitive operations.
• Advise the CEO and Executive Committee on capital allocation, investments, and long‑term value creation.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and reporting.
• Implement cost‑optimization and productivity initiatives across finance, operations, and supply chain.
• Lead continuous improvement of reporting, consolidation, and analytics using ERP (S/4 HANA), BI (Power BI) and Hyperion tools.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, tax legislation, internal controls and risk‑management frameworks.
• Drive finance digitalisation, process automation and ERP/BI optimisation.
• Mentor finance teams and collaborate with Procurement and IT heads to align objectives.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance or related field.
• Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA/ACCA) or German Wirtschaftsprüfer.
• Minimum 10 years in senior finance leadership, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proven record of strategic and operational financial management.
• Strong communication, leadership and change‑management abilities.
