Civil Works Manager – Electrical Substation Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Works Manager to lead on‑site construction activities for a high‑profile electrical substation upgrade in Baden‑Württemberg, Germany. The project supports cross‑border power flows and regional grid stability across Germany, France, and Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate plans and prepare work for each construction phase.
• Supervise on‑site construction to ensure compliance with public regulations, design specifications, and DGUV Regulation 1.
• Control quality and verify that works conform to design, handling defect notifications and documentation.
• Manage coordination across multiple trades and disciplines.
• Plan schedules, monitor workflow, and ensure adherence to construction deadlines.
• Identify and report deviations, potential change orders, and claims.
• Participate in site meetings, acceptance inspections, and maintain the daily construction diary.

Required profile

• Several years of professional experience in construction management and project management, preferably in civil engineering/groundworks.
• Experience with electrical substations or high‑voltage projects is advantageous.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong assertiveness and resilience in complex infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering is a plus.
• Fluent German – all project communication is conducted in German.
