Construction HSE Supervisor – Green Diesel Expansion

About the role

Met T&S, the employment company of MAIRE group, is recruiting a Construction HSE Supervisor for the Green Diesel Production Project in Hamburg, Germany. The project plans the expansion of the existing Hamburg Refinery with new process units, a tank farm balance, interconnecting lines, a new electrical substation and rack room, and associated cabling. The HSE engineer reports to the HSM or, as the TCM HSE representative on site, to the Site Manager, ensuring field activities follow the TCM HSE policy, regulations, standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and take part in Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Check the adequacy and application of the Site HSE Plan and revise it when needed, and update HSE documentation across construction phases
• Ensure subcontractors comply with HSE procedures, regulations and standards
• Organise and take part in periodic HSE walk-arounds, inspections and audits, and follow up corrective actions
• Coordinate and take part in HSE training and site HSE meetings, and prepare minutes
• Cooperate with the client on work permits and investigate accidents, keeping accident records and proposing prevention improvements
• Lead the site HSE committee and the emergency response and fire prevention teams, and organise emergency drills
• Prepare the HSE section of monthly progress reports and site HSE statistics, and propose recovery plans when targets are missed

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience as an HSE field engineer or supervisor in industrial construction, preferably oil & gas
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Preferred: high-level HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH or SiFa, and an engineering or technical degree

Required skills

• Familiarity with HSE standards such as ISO 45001, SSC and OSHA
• Knowledge of local health and safety legislation
• Risk assessment and risk control approach
• High computer skills and excellent communication and management abilities
