Cyber Defense Expert – Detection & Response

About the role

Join METRO's global Cyber Defense team and help protect the company's digital assets. You will work on cutting‑edge detection, response, and vulnerability management technologies while collaborating with security operations and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational excellence of cyber‑defense tooling for detection, response, and vulnerability management.
• Drive effectiveness, reliability, and continuous improvement of detection and response technologies worldwide.
• Design and execute hypothesis‑based threat hunts to uncover malicious activity and refine detection logic.
• Integrate cyber‑defense capabilities into daily workflows across Security Operations and other teams.
• Collaborate with global teams to enhance maturity, efficiency, and scalability of cyber‑defense practices.
• Share insights, lessons learned, and emerging threat trends with the team.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of detection & response methodologies and enterprise cyber‑defense concepts.
• At least 8 years of hands‑on experience in cyber‑defense, including 3 years in threat hunting.
• Ability to translate security signals and patterns into actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional, international environments.
• Strategic and analytical mindset for long‑term capability development.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC) are a plus.
