Design Engineer – Mechanical Product Development

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the development of new drilling products and auxiliary equipment. You will be responsible for delivering robust engineering designs that meet safety standards, incorporate the latest technologies, and support field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drafting and development activities for new drilling product concepts.
• Create and deliver 3D models, manufacturing drawings, process specifications, and risk assessments.
• Perform engineering calculations and design analyses to ensure integrity and performance.
• Develop engineering scopes and specification documents for new product designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including peers, operations, maintenance, sourcing, suppliers, and product line managers.
• Produce product and site support literature for implementation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure designs are completed within project timelines and budgets.
• Plan and oversee functional tests and final product inspections.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing direction and feedback.
• Support sales and marketing with technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of product design and development experience, preferably in drilling, mining or construction.
• Hydraulic design experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling, especially using Creo.
• Familiarity with PLM systems such as Windchill is a plus.
• Native German speaker and proficient English.
