Work Preparation Engineer

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Work Preparation Engineer to map and maintain production processes for mechanical‑optical systems in cleanroom environments. The role supports product launches, prototype builds, and cost analysis for serial and repair operations.

Key responsibilities

• Map and maintain SAP R/3 processes (MM, PP, QM, CO) including material masters, BOMs, routings, work centers, inspection plans and cost calculations.
• Plan and cost assembly processes for prototype builds and monitor product launches, ramp‑ups and engineering change requests.
• Provide process engineering support for customer inquiries, quotations and calibration of inspection equipment.
• Analyze and correct manufacturing cost variances.

Required profile

• Technical qualification or degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or similar with several years of production planning/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of optical metrology, optical manufacturing and cleanroom assembly technologies.
• Proven project experience, strong analytical and decision‑making skills, and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Advanced SAP knowledge (PP, MM, QM, CO modules).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
