Development Engineer (m/f/d) for high-voltage switchgear

About the role

As a Development Engineer for high‑voltage switchgear, you will turn customer requirements into top‑quality products within an international project team. You will be involved from the initial concept through to the finished product, supporting testing and hand‑over to manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Model mechanical components and assemblies using PTC Creo, considering cost and functionality.
• Perform conventional calculations and FEM analyses to verify mechanical properties.
• Assist in planning, setting up, and executing development and type tests.
• Analyse test results and define necessary design changes.
• Create standard‑compliant drawings to document work results.
• Provide technical expertise to cross‑functional project teams.

Required profile

• Completed university degree in mechanical engineering (product development) or a comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in machine design and construction.
• Project experience with electrical systems; experience in high‑voltage switchgear development is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical component design, simulation tools, materials technology, and manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of high‑voltage electrical engineering.
• Fluent in German and English.
