About the role

PSA BDP is looking for a Director of Operations to lead Ocean Freight activities across Germany from its Hamburg office. The role combines strategic vision, operational oversight, and customer development to drive growth and efficiency in a global supply‑chain environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for Ocean Freight Operations in Germany, aligning with corporate goals.
• Lead and manage ocean freight departments across all locations, ensuring consistent quality and service delivery.
• Oversee the operational budget, collaborate on financial planning, and monitor profit ratios.
• Establish, track, and review KPIs to guarantee high performance and timely service delivery.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key customers and stakeholders, driving portfolio growth.
• Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity through technology and IT tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans for ocean freight or logistics operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑site teams and conduct performance reviews for senior staff.
• Strong financial management skills, including budget oversight and profit ratio monitoring.
• Track record of building long‑term customer relationships and expanding business portfolios.
• Experience driving process optimisation and technology adoption within freight operations.
