Director of Rooms – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Hoxton is opening its second hotel in Germany and is seeking a Director of Rooms to lead the housekeeping, maintenance and front office teams. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing the financial performance of the rooms division.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management of housekeeping, maintenance and front office teams.
• Ensure guests are well cared for and expectations are exceeded.
• Train staff on standard operating procedures and ensure adherence.
• Own the rooms P&L, contribute to annual budget planning and control expenses.
• Manage quality evaluation processes and drive improvements.
• Resolve guest issues promptly to maintain the highest satisfaction levels.
• Identify and implement process improvements across all rooms functions.
• Complete all people documentation, including payroll, recruitment, disciplinary, grievance and appraisal records.
• Coach, develop and motivate the team, set objectives and provide regular feedback.
• Lead projects involving housekeeping, maintenance and front office, and manage policy changes.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and participate in crisis and fire teams.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and a desire to create memorable guest experiences.
• Commercially savvy with proven senior operational experience in a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people‑management skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and a proactive attitude.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills.
