Director of Strategy & Programming – Deep Tech & AI

About the role

The Director of Strategy & Programming will shape the intellectual direction of a leading European deep‑tech platform. Working at the crossroads of content, ideas, events and ecosystem building, you will define what the organisation thinks, says and convenes across AI and frontier technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute content strategy across sectors such as AI, defence, space, energy, robotics, advanced materials, tech‑bio and high‑performance computing.
• Curate flagship conference programmes, including themes, agendas, formats and stage design, deciding what topics are discussed.
• Build and nurture relationships with founders, investors, scientists, operators and policymakers.
• Lead editorial output year‑round, producing newsletters, reports and thought‑leadership content.
• Transform events into a content flywheel that generates conversations, community and influence.
• Collaborate directly with founders on positioning, narrative and content direction.

Required profile

• Strong writing and editorial judgement.
• Ability to simplify complex technical ideas.
• Genuine interest in deep‑tech, science and AI.
• Confidence engaging senior industry figures.
• Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end and deliver on schedule.

What we offer

• Competitive salary €80,000‑€105,000 per year.
• Equity participation (~1%).
• Location in Berlin or remote within the UK/EU, with regular travel to Berlin.
