Engineering Manager – Robotics & Automation

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics and needs an Engineering Manager to lead the core squad that develops the orchestration and automation engine for its modular robots. You will guide a senior team of full‑stack and embedded engineers, balancing rapid feature delivery with rigorous engineering hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Set rigorous standards for code quality, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines to ensure 24/7 robot reliability.
• Lead senior and staff engineers, fostering a culture of high ownership and steady delivery.
• Oversee product lifecycle from Vue.js front‑ends to Linux‑based industrial interfaces.
• Manage technical debt and architectural health for long‑term system stability.
• Partner with Product Management to translate customer needs into technical requirements and actionable sprints.
• Mentor engineers and evolve company‑wide engineering best practices and software‑first principles.

Required profile

• 3+ years leading high‑performing teams in robotics or industrial IoT environments.
• Deep experience with Python, FastAPI, Vue.js and Docker‑based deployments on Linux.
• Proven track record of driving an AI‑first engineering culture and implementing agentic workflows.
• Expert knowledge of modern SDLC practices, improving deployment frequency and system stability.
• Hardware empathy, passion for software‑defined hardware and a strong culture of high ownership.
• Very good English communication skills for architectural discussions and stakeholder communication.
