Engineering Team Lead - Data Engineering & Analytics

About the role

SAG Digital, a subsidiary of Swiss Automotive Group AG, designs and operates e-commerce solutions, webshops and apps for the automotive aftermarket. As Engineering Team Lead for Data Engineering & Analytics, you will lead the evolution of the Data & Insights domain across B2B and B2C, bringing together two data environments under a shared technical direction so that data becomes measurable customer and business value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 10 Data Engineering & Analytics specialists, fostering clear ownership and collaboration.
• Unify B2B and B2C data capabilities under a common direction while addressing different architectures, legacy systems and modernization needs.
• Define and evolve the target data architecture, set standards and improve simplicity, scalability, maintainability and cost efficiency.
• Connect Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Products so that technical foundations deliver relevant insights and value.
• Lead the AI transformation, introduce AI-assisted workflows across the engineering lifecycle and develop engineers toward broader technical ownership.
• Work with Product, Business and Enterprise Architecture to turn customer and business needs into sustainable data capabilities, and use engineering and business KPIs to improve performance.

Required profile

• Senior-level expertise in Data Engineering and Data Architecture, with end-to-end experience from ingestion and transformation through modelling to serving analytics and data products.
• Strong people leadership and coaching skills, staying close to the technology while prioritizing leadership and direction.
• Hands-on experience with AI-first data engineering and analytics, with concrete examples of projects or workflows.
• Experience modernizing complex data landscapes, including legacy environments.
• Fluent English; German is a plus but not required.

Required skills

• Modern cloud data platforms; Snowflake and dbt are particularly valuable.
• A plus: Azure Data Factory / Synapse, Power BI, Terraform and CI/CD.
