Finance Specialist – Financial Control (Frankfurt)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Specialist to join our Frankfurt‑based Financial Control team within a well‑established, globally connected financial services firm. This hands‑on position supports the integrity of the firm’s books and contributes to a wide range of financial, regulatory and statutory reporting deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Support the month‑end accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial information in accordance with IFRS and HGB (German GAAP) standards.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and provide documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to regulatory and statistical reporting, maintaining awareness of the applicable regulatory landscape.
• Prepare meeting packs and financial information for governance forums and management boards.
• Liaise with the global finance team and provide on‑the‑ground support within the Frankfurt office.
• Support AWV (Aussenwirtschaftsverordnung) reporting and related compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Excellent numeracy, analytical and data‑analysis skills.
• Experience in a bank, investment firm or broader financial‑services environment.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work in a lean team and take ownership.
• Strong academic background.
