Financial Accountant (m/f/d) – Hybrid Option

About the role

BASF Services Europe GmbH, the international service hub for the BASF Group in Berlin, is hiring a Financial Accountant (m/f/d) for its German BASF Group companies. The role sits within the Financial Reporting team and supports the accounting unit with general ledger, fixed assets and financial reporting. It is offered as a hybrid option.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset accounting, ensuring reconciliation with the subledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with HGB and IFRS, and prepare income tax calculations for German BASF Group companies
• Prepare monthly group reporting and answer internal and external reporting inquiries
• Serve as the central contact for subsidiaries, subledgers and BASF's central finance units on accounting matters

Required profile

• Commercial vocational training, preferably with a focus on taxation, or a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting, Controlling or Taxation
• Initial professional experience in external financial reporting and knowledge of HGB financial statements; ideally some initial IFRS experience
• Very good German and good English
• Team-oriented, independent and analytically minded

Required skills

• Proficiency in common MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Ideally user-level knowledge of SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA

• Gross annual salary of 40,000 to 46,000 EUR full-time, depending on qualification and experience (48,000 to 52,000 EUR with higher qualifications), plus a performance bonus
