Freelance Safety Physician / Medical Monitor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Physician to join a leading international biotech company on a freelance basis. The role is primarily remote with occasional on‑site visits in Munich, offering the chance to influence safety strategy for high‑impact drug development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure safety excellence.
• Lead, guide, and mentor peers on safety‑related topics.
• Manage safety vendors and maintain appropriate sponsor oversight.
• Develop, maintain, and improve safety SOPs, templates, and processes.
• Ensure inspection readiness and take a leading role during safety inspections.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor degree.
• Proven experience as a Safety Physician or Medical Monitor in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid setting.
