General Counsel – In‑house Legal Lead

About the role

RobCo is building AI‑powered robotic systems for industrial automation and seeks its first in‑house legal leader. Reporting to the CFO with a dotted line to the CEO, you will shape the legal function for a fast‑growing, internationally distributed company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch a lean legal department covering EU and US jurisdictions.
• Implement legal operations tools such as contract repositories, approval workflows, and AI‑assisted drafting.
• Define and manage relationships with external counsel for IP, regulatory, M&A, and litigation matters.
• Run the deal desk: create contract templates, negotiation guardrails, and escalation protocols.
• Negotiate and close enterprise contracts, including RaaS agreements, pilots, and framework deals in DACH and the US.
• Advise on corporate structuring, inter‑company arrangements, transfer pricing, and future expansion.
• Support board governance, shareholder agreements, and fundraising activities.
• Draft and maintain employment contracts and HR policies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a senior counsel or law firm partner handling commercial, corporate, employment, and compliance matters.
• Deep knowledge of both German and US legal frameworks.
• Proven ability to build legal functions from scratch in high‑growth tech environments.
• Strong advisory skills for C‑level executives.

Required skills

• Expertise in contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with AI‑enabled legal tooling and contract automation.
• Fluency in German and English (legal terminology).
