Global People Operations Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

Shopware, an open-source ecommerce platform used by large European brands, retailers and manufacturers, is looking for a Global People Operations Manager. The role owns the operational coordination of international and US payroll, employment contracts and country compliance, working closely with Finance, Legal, local counsel, payroll providers and Employer of Record partners. It is a hands-on position within a fully cross-trained People Operations team, with a primary focus on international payroll, contracts and compliance, while also supporting German employment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end international and US payroll, including inputs for hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, benefits and leave, and resolve issues with internal and external partners
• Prepare, coordinate and maintain employment contracts and amendments, and track country compliance with local counsel, payroll providers and EORs
• Maintain a country compliance calendar and playbooks, and turn complex country requirements into practical People Operations processes
• Coordinate bonus plans, target agreements and variable-pay changes, and provide payroll and accrual inputs to Finance
• Support onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance and People Operations projects, and share knowledge across the team
• Manage relationships with payroll providers, EORs, HRIS and contract-management vendors, and help improve and automate payroll, HRIS and contract processes

Required profile

• Experience in international People Operations, global payroll, employment operations or HR operations
• Experience coordinating payroll across multiple countries, including the United States
• Experience preparing or managing employment contracts and employment documentation
• Working knowledge of international employment, payroll and statutory compliance requirements
• Fluency in English (required); German or another European language is a plus
• Location: EU/UK-based, with a preference for Germany or Spain

• Strong attention to detail when handling confidential employee and payroll information
• Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder-management skills
