Group Financial Controller

About the role

This senior finance leadership position is based in Germany and sits at the heart of a fast‑scaling global technology company. You will safeguard financial integrity, ensure robust governance and provide strategic financial insight to senior leadership across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end financial control, overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, statutory accounts and management reporting.
• Design, implement and continuously improve financial policies, controls and governance frameworks for a global operation.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, manage reconciliations, journal reviews and the financial close process.
• Coordinate external audit, tax authority interactions and relationships with external advisors.
• Drive finance‑system enhancements, data‑quality improvements and adoption of automation or AI tools.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and evolving regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of precision and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior accounting or financial control experience, preferably in a global technology or SaaS environment.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Deep expertise in IFRS and complex multi‑entity financial reporting.
• Proven experience with ERP systems and advanced data analysis.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, audit processes and international governance frameworks.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
