Head of Finance / Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance / Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting function of an international multi‑brand consumer business undergoing transformation. The role combines strategic partnership with senior leadership and hands‑on operational responsibility, operating on a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week in our Mannheim office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple markets.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
• Manage treasury activities, cash flow, and banking relationships.
• Oversee payroll, tax, and statutory reporting functions.
• Drive performance management, KPI tracking and continuous process improvement.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance or accounting leadership experience, preferably in an international or multi‑entity environment.
• Hands‑on yet strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong internal relationships and influence organizational change.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of financial controls, reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and treasury management.
