Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a global software business. The position is fully remote, requires the candidate to be based in Germany, and involves occasional travel across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports to the Business Unit General Manager and group finance.
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP and IFRS, with a focus on IFRS 15.
• Oversee internal and external audit processes.
• Manage local payroll processing.
• Guarantee accurate revenue recognition.
• Lead a small finance team, including two transactional clerks.
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the group.
• Balance day‑to‑day operational tasks with broader strategic finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Based in Germany and fluent in English.
• Proven experience in finance leadership, preferably within a software or technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS (especially IFRS 15).
• Experience managing small finance teams and coordinating audits.
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
