Head of M&A (Corporate Development) – Healthcare & Life Sciences

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing international biopharmaceutical and life‑sciences platform, is seeking a senior leader to drive its inorganic growth strategy across EMEA and frontier markets. Reporting to the executive board, you will own the end‑to‑end M&A process, from sourcing to integration, for high‑value therapeutic and manufacturing assets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a proprietary buy‑and‑build strategy, identifying target platforms, manufacturing assets and therapeutic pipelines.
• Lead full‑cycle cross‑border transactions, including screening, structuring, negotiation, documentation and closing.
• Direct rigorous financial modeling (DCF, LBO, SOTP, synergy mapping) and oversee multidisciplinary due diligence with tier‑one advisors.
• Collaborate with CFO and treasury to optimize capital structures using debt, equity and strategic financing vehicles.
• Prepare investment memorandums and advise the Executive Board and Investment Committee on deal viability.
• Partner with operational leaders and integration management offices to develop and track 100‑day execution plans.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive M&A experience in top‑tier investment banking (healthcare/pharma coverage), healthcare private equity or corporate development within a multinational life‑sciences group.
• Deep expertise in pharmaceutical, biologics or broader life‑sciences ecosystems, including regulatory and pipeline valuation knowledge.
• Proven track record of independently leading complex, cross‑border buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
• Strong commercial acumen, risk‑adjusted capital deployment mindset and ability to influence senior leadership.
