Information Security Lead (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for an Information Security Lead to join TeleClinic’s Infrastructure team in Germany. In this hybrid role you will act as a senior backend engineer while taking ownership of the company’s information security strategy, effectively serving as the de‑facto CISO. You will work closely with product and operations teams to embed security into every layer of our telemedicine platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to make architecture decisions with a security‑first mindset.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Lead the ISO 27001 certification process, from gap analysis to audit readiness and ongoing compliance.
• Develop, maintain and enforce the company‑wide Information Security Management System (ISMS) and related policies.
• Conduct risk assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability management across the stack.
• Provide security awareness training and up‑skilling for colleagues.
• Monitor the threat landscape and proactively address emerging risks in a regulated healthcare environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
• Strong understanding of network security, identity & access management, encryption and secure software development lifecycle.
• Hands‑on experience with ISO 27001 implementation or re‑certification.
• Familiarity with healthcare data regulations such as GDPR (German digital health regulations a plus).
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex security concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
