IT Engineer

About the role

Helsing, a defence AI company, is looking for an IT Engineer to design, build and operate the IT infrastructure that supports its European offices and engineering teams. You will ensure secure, scalable and reliable platforms for highly sensitive defence projects while collaborating with security, engineering and support functions.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, harden and manage endpoints (macOS, Windows, Linux) across workstations, laptops and servers.
• Design, deploy and maintain on‑prem Linux compute environments, including virtualization and Kubernetes clusters.
• Operate network and VPN infrastructure for office locations and remote workers, integrating security tooling.
• Manage corporate, development and customer environments primarily on Microsoft 365 and Azure, plus other SaaS solutions.
• Lead identity, access and device management at scale (Entra ID, Conditional Access, MDM).
• Automate provisioning, configuration and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python and IaC tools.
• Partner with IT Support to resolve escalations, eliminate recurring issues and raise the engineering bar.
• Contribute to security, compliance and audit activities and help shape the IT strategy as the company scales.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and information security, preferably in defence, government or other regulated sectors.
• Hands‑on experience in an IT Engineering or SysAdmin role covering macOS clients, Linux servers, and cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, virtualization, network and VPN technologies.
