IT-Experte Backup & Storage

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an IT‑Expert for Backup & Storage to ensure the stability and high performance of its enterprise storage environment. Based in Manching, about an hour north of Munich, you will work on‑premises with cutting‑edge NetApp and Veeam technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain NetApp ONTAP and Veeam Backup & Replication in a high‑availability environment.
• Plan and execute firmware updates, patches and technical optimisations.
• Provide 1st and 2nd level support, analyse complex incidents and coordinate escalations with vendors.
• Improve incident, change and problem management processes using ITIL standards and tools such as BMC Remedy, Jira and Confluence.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automation of routine tasks.
• Collaborate with IT, architecture and specialist teams to implement technical requirements and manage system lifecycles.
• Create and update technical documentation, operating manuals and SOPs.
• Participate in on‑call duty and shift work as required.

Required profile

• Several years of experience with complex storage and backup infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of NetApp ONTAP and Veeam Backup & Replication, preferably with certifications (NCDA, NCIE, VMCE).
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based processes and tools (BMC Remedy, Jira, Confluence).
