Junior Legal Counsel – FinTech

About the role

Mondu, a fast‑growing B2B payments provider operating in more than 30 European markets, is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Berlin or Amsterdam. This is a one‑year fixed‑term role that offers immediate responsibility and exposure to the day‑to‑day operations of a modern, tech‑driven legal department.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and manage core commercial agreements such as NDAs, vendor contracts and terms of service.
• Own and optimise the legal tech stack, including e‑signing tools, contract management software and internal wikis, to streamline workflows for product, sales and engineering teams.
• Provide first‑line legal support to internal stakeholders, translating legal concepts into actionable business advice.
• Assist with additional commercial‑focused legal tasks, supporting the company’s growth initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a law degree (First State Exam, Bachelor of Law or Master of Law).
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong interest in fintech, finance‑technology intersections and regulatory environments.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to prioritise in a fast‑moving start‑up setting.
• Willingness to work on‑site three days a week in a hybrid model.

Required skills

• Familiarity with commercial contract drafting and review.
• Basic understanding of legal technology tools (e‑signatures, contract management platforms).
