Junior Mechanical Engineer – Robotics

About the role

RobCo is seeking a (Junior) Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical development of its modular industrial robots, from concept through validation, ensuring high performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of modular robotic components and assemblies from concept to production readiness.
• Create robust, cost‑effective designs that balance functionality and manufacturability.
• Drive prototyping, assembly and integration of mechanical systems.
• Plan and conduct mechanical testing and validation to verify performance, durability and safety.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes and implement design improvements.
• Collaborate with electrical, software and production teams for seamless system integration.
• Prepare high‑quality technical documentation, specifications and test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in robotics, automation or precision engineering.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred; Inventor, CATIA or equivalents acceptable).
• Proven track record designing, building and validating complex mechanical assemblies.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, tolerance analysis and manufacturing processes.
• Hands‑on prototyping and assembly skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; German is a plus.
