Laundry Machine Operator (Custodial)

About the role

The Laundry Machine Operator provides essential custodial support by operating commercial laundry equipment for bulk laundry processing in a military lodging environment. This onsite position ensures that linens, uniforms, and other textiles are cleaned, folded, and stored according to strict standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate commercial washers and dryers, loading and unloading items while selecting appropriate settings and cleaning solvents.
• Sort laundry loads, monitor capacity, and adjust machine parameters to meet quality requirements.
• Fold, stack, and organize finished items for distribution.
• Perform routine cleaning of rooms, corridors, stairways, and other facility areas using powered equipment.
• Operate industrial equipment for cleaning rugs, drapes, and similar items.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of work areas and equipment.

Required profile

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow safety procedures.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb, stand on hard surfaces, and perform bending, pushing, and pulling tasks.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
• Pass a background check, provide direct deposit details, and meet any required health screenings or immunizations.

Required skills

• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., rug and drape cleaners).
