Lead Developer – Java & AI (Bad Homburg)

About the role

Infosys is looking for an experienced Lead Developer to drive Java‑based and AI‑enabled solutions in Bad Homburg, Germany. The role combines deep Java expertise with hands‑on development of generative AI applications, including LLM‑powered chatbots and retrieval‑augmented generation services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy enterprise‑grade AI‑powered applications and conversational chatbot solutions.
• Integrate Large Language Model (LLM) services using leading AI platforms and APIs.
• Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures for knowledge‑intensive use cases.
• Develop and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs with Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards and mentor development teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews, performance tuning, and DevOps/CI‑CD pipelines.
• Evaluate AI models for performance, scalability and cost, and monitor model quality in production.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Demonstrated experience delivering production‑grade LLM or generative AI solutions.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through design and implementation.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a focus on high‑quality, secure code.
