Legal Counsel – Dispute Resolution

About the role

Nokia is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead its dispute resolution efforts across Europe and, when needed, globally. Reporting to the Head of Global Disputes and Litigation, you will work with internal and external lawyers to protect the company’s interests in complex litigation, patent disputes, regulatory investigations and related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute cost‑efficient strategies to achieve optimal outcomes in litigation and regulatory cases.
• Lead early case assessment processes and oversee the selection and performance of outside counsel.
• Implement and maintain advanced litigation management tools and dashboards for transparent reporting.
• Control budgets, monitor external spend, and explore alternative fee arrangements.
• Collaborate with business leaders, Finance, Internal Audit, Ethics & Compliance, Health & Safety, and other functions to manage case impact.
• Respond to government and regulatory inquiries, investigations, and claims.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a litigator handling patent, commercial and regulatory disputes.
• Proven ability to work in a matrixed, boundary‑less organization and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong aptitude for managing work across multiple time zones while maintaining work‑life balance.
• Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
