Legal Counsel – In‑House (All Genders)

About the role

Impossible Founders is building a pan‑European DeepTech venture platform and is hiring its first in‑house legal professional. Reporting to the CFO/COO, you will design and implement the legal framework for new ventures, investments and public‑funding projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and set up corporate structures for spin‑outs and investment activities.
• Advise on company formation, governance, shareholder arrangements, financing rounds and strategic transactions.
• Handle funding‑related and regulatory matters linked to public grants, research collaborations and innovation programmes.
• Draft and review minor commercial agreements and standard employment contracts.
• Build and maintain a curated network of external law firms across corporate, tax, employment, IP and public‑funding topics.
• Brief, scope and manage external counsel to ensure efficient use of specialist resources.
• Prepare legal and compliance documentation for auditors, tax advisors and other professional service providers.
• Serve as the first point of contact for founders and venture teams on practical legal questions.

Required profile

• Law degree (Zweites Staatsexamen) and admission to practice law in Germany.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a start‑up, law firm, venture‑backed company or public‑funding environment.
• Strong business judgement, solution‑oriented mindset and ability to work without a playbook.
• Proven experience managing external law firms, advisors or auditors.
• Genuine interest in entrepreneurship, innovation and company building.
