Logistics Coordinator – Heavy Machinery & Spare Parts

About the role

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to oversee end‑to‑end logistics operations for heavy machinery and spare parts across Germany and the wider region. The role ensures timely, cost‑effective delivery while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international transportation (road, sea, air) and provide real‑time shipment tracking.
• Manage full‑cycle import and export processes, preparing and verifying all required documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations and certificates.
• Monitor shipment status, proactively resolve issues, and minimise delays.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, including import/export data, transportation logs and cost tracking.
• Collaborate with sales, service, warehouse and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
• Optimise routes and logistics plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Evaluate, select and manage freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers.
• Control logistics costs, verify invoices and reconcile payments.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, Incoterms and company policies.
• Support insurance claims related to transportation damages or losses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics operations, especially import/export and transportation of heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
• Strong understanding of international trade processes, customs clearance and logistics documentation.
• Excellent organisational abilities, able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (preferred).
