Machine Learning Internship – Predictive Reliability for Heat Pumps

About the role

We are looking for a motivated intern to help us continue developing machine‑learning solutions for heat‑pump reliability. You will build on existing work, improve current models and explore new reliability use cases, mainly using Databricks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and enhance data preparation and feature‑engineering pipelines.
• Support optimisation and evaluation of existing machine‑learning models.
• Investigate new features and early risk indicators from field and IoT data.
• Develop reproducible ML workflows in Databricks with MLflow.
• Adapt and assess approaches for additional product‑related reliability issues.
• Explore Generative AI to turn model outputs into concise reports for engineers.
• Communicate findings through visualisations, short presentations and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Master programme in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a comparable quantitative field.
• Practical knowledge of machine learning, model evaluation, feature engineering and data preprocessing.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Ability to work independently, organise workflows systematically and communicate technical results clearly.
• Very good command of English.
