Maintenance Engineer – Technical Services at Gigafactory

About the role

Join Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy as a Maintenance Engineer in the Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg. You will be responsible for the reliability of critical lifting and intralogistics equipment in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own system availability, performance and lifecycle management for cranes, elevators, industrial doors, AGVs, forklifts and related assets.
• Lead root‑cause investigations and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control systems, including sensors, drives, VFDs and safety circuits.
• Design and execute preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance programmes while ensuring compliance with German regulations.
• Coordinate with OEMs and service providers, negotiate SLAs and resolve escalations.
• Develop spare‑parts strategies, manage critical inventory and track KPIs such as availability, MTTR and MTBF.
• Drive reliability projects, conduct FMEA and implement process optimisations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or equipment engineering within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven record of reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Strong ability to work with cross‑functional teams, OEMs and vendors.
