Media Communications Intern (Hybrid, Bonn)

About the role

This six‑month internship with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is based in Bonn, Germany, with a hybrid work arrangement. The intern will support the Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) Secretariat, helping to communicate the work of water and sanitation operators worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the GWOPA team to conceptualise and produce multimedia content such as videos, podcasts, infographics, flyers, and brochures.
• Draft and edit public information materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and web stories.
• Assist in planning and delivering outreach activities and workshops.
• Support knowledge development and documentation for the UN‑Habitat Urban Basic Services Communities of Practice.
• Manage content for the GWOPA website and other digital platforms.
• Provide online community support and facilitate platform transfers.
• Undertake additional assignments related to the GWOPA work programme as required.

Required profile

• Interest in media communications and urban water and sanitation issues.
• Willingness to work in a multicultural UN environment and collaborate with international partners.
