About the role

The HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management seeks a full‑time Professor in Global Economics to strengthen its economics portfolio. The successful candidate will combine rigorous macro‑economic research with cutting‑edge teaching for graduate and executive programmes, preparing future managers and financial professionals for a highly interconnected world.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses on macro‑economic policy, international trade, and finance for Master in Finance and Management‑oriented programmes.
• Lead research initiatives that integrate empirical‑statistical methods with global policy analysis.
• Contribute to the school’s strategic vision by shaping the economics curriculum and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Engage with international academic networks and represent HHL at conferences and seminars.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and empirical background in applied macroeconomics, international economics, econometrics or finance‑related economics.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge macroeconomics, finance, political economy and management‑relevant insights.
• Successful completion of a habilitation or equivalent qualification and proven suitability for university teaching at Master and Doctoral levels.
• Active participation in international academic networks and commitment to diversity and gender equality.
