Programme Support Consultant (Level A)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Programme Support Consultant (Level A) to contribute to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). The consultant will work remotely on a part‑time basis over a 12‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical inputs and analyses for a proposal to implement mid‑term review recommendations of the IPBES rolling work programme up to 2030.
• Develop a holistic indicator framework to monitor IPBES work‑programme performance and impact.
• Organise and facilitate online meetings for the Bureau and Multidisciplinary Expert Panel.
• Liaise with secretariat staff and relevant technical support units.
• Perform other duties as required by the Senior Programme Management Officer and the IPBES Executive Secretary.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in environmental, natural, social or interdisciplinary sciences.
• Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in natural, social or interdisciplinary sciences, including project planning, design, management and evaluation.
• Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and integrate diverse approaches.
