Regulatory & Compliance Counsel – EU/UK Focus

About the role

We are looking for a Regulatory and Compliance Counsel to join our growing legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead risk, compliance and regulatory initiatives across the bunch group, ensuring our operations scale safely within EU and UK frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy, policies and compliance posture for GDPR, DORA, AML and other EU/UK regulations.
• Co‑lead IT security programmes, including ISO 27001 and future certifications such as SOC2.
• Shape AI governance and ensure alignment with the EU AI Act.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting our business model and support market‑entry analyses.
• Manage regulatory filings related to M&A, change‑of‑control and vendor compliance.
• Oversee ongoing financial regulatory obligations, including AIFMD, FATCA/CRS and German Bundesbank filings.
• Develop and implement the company’s risk‑management strategy in partnership with leadership.

Required profile

• Law degree (German Second State Exam, J.D., LL.B./LL.M. or equivalent).
• 2‑3 years of experience in compliance, risk or regulatory work, preferably in an in‑house setting.
• Experience with cross‑border, multi‑entity groups and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
• Strong project‑management abilities and excellent written and spoken English (C1+); solid German (B2+).
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and comfortable handling responsibility in a fast‑paced start‑up.

Required skills

• IT security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2).
• Regulatory knowledge of GDPR, DORA, AML, AI Act, AIFMD, FATCA/CRS.
