Remote Attorney / Lawyer Subject Matter Expert (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Attorney or Lawyer to join our AI data services team as a Subject Matter Expert. Working remotely on an hourly contract basis, you will evaluate and improve AI‑generated legal content, ensuring high‑quality reasoning, accuracy, and clarity.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and gold‑standard legal outputs such as issue analyses, drafting examples, checklists, policies, and memos.
• Evaluate, rank, and provide feedback on AI responses to enhance correctness, clarity, defensibility, and risk awareness.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, confidentiality risks, and bias, and validate reliability across diverse legal scenarios.

Required profile

• JD/LLB (or equivalent) with active bar membership or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of professional legal practice (law firm, in‑house, government, or legal aid).
• Proven ability to spot issues and conduct structured legal analysis, including rule identification, application, and conclusion.
• Experience in one or more practice areas such as contracts, employment, privacy, corporate, litigation, IP, real estate, or compliance.
• Strong legal research and drafting/editing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Fluent English (minimum C1) and comfortable evaluating answers for consistency and client safety.
